Military power is more than one list. At Military Power Rankings, the Lists hub gives you several ways to explore what makes a military strong.
Start with the full global rankings, or focus on the top ten, twenty-five, or fifty. Explore regional rankings, nuclear states, and powerful non-nuclear states.
Want a closer comparison? Open Force Comparison for military branches and capabilities, or Military Metrics for manpower and equipment. MPR Comparisons brings country matchups together in one place.
Then look at the national foundations: population, defense spending, geography, infrastructure and research.
Follow the Countries Index for a country’s full profile, or open the War Simulator to explore a matchup.
The source library, country sources, MPR Algorithm and two hundred and nine ranking factors provide the research and method behind the site.

Sources and List Method
MPR military power lists are supported by the MPR source library, country-specific research trail, MPR Algorithm, and 209-factor framework. These list pages organize ranking outputs, regional comparisons, nuclear and non-nuclear categories, force metrics, and military comparison pages into a single navigation hub. The factors are organized into 14 categories drawn from MPR's study of historical and postwar conflicts, informing its assessment of actual warfighting ability today.
Use the source and methodology pages below to review how MPR connects public military data, country-level research context, ranking factors, and combat-effectiveness analysis across the lists library.
